PRIVATE TUTORING IN NEWPORT BEACH

Help with today’s work.
Skills for what comes next.

A busy school week can leave little room to work out why a class feels difficult. We help Newport Beach families make a practical plan: identify the coursework that needs attention, choose a tutor who can teach it clearly and set a regular time to build momentum. Bring a recent assignment, quiz or teacher comment—we can start there.

Your child’s school provides the course; we provide individual attention around it. Whether they attend a Newport-Mesa public school or a private school, lessons follow their assignments, teacher expectations and learning needs. The aim is stronger understanding, better preparation for quizzes and tests, and study habits they can use without a tutor beside them.

WHAT THAT SUPPORT CAN LOOK LIKE

A familiar challenge.
A thoughtful next step.

These examples show how lessons can respond to your child’s needs. We choose the starting point together, using their actual schoolwork.

01 / ALGEBRA & ENHANCED MATH

“The homework makes sense.
The test feels different.”

A student may understand a worked example but get stuck when a question changes. Their tutor can revisit earlier algebra skills, ask them to explain each step and practice unfamiliar problems from the current unit.

What we work towardChoosing a method independently—and explaining why it works.

Talk about your child’s math class

02 / AP CHEMISTRY

“They know the formulas.
Applying them is harder.”

A tutor can connect calculations to the underlying chemistry, review mistakes from recent quizzes and practice explaining the reasoning behind an answer. Upcoming class tests help set priorities alongside AP exam preparation.

What we work towardUnderstanding the concept, setting up the problem and checking the answer.

Discuss AP Chemistry support

03 / ENGLISH & ESSAY WRITING

“There are good ideas.
Getting started is the hard part.”

Using the assignment prompt and teacher’s rubric, a tutor can help your child develop a clear claim, organize an outline and connect evidence to their argument. Your child does the writing, with guidance on how to revise.

What we work towardA repeatable writing process your child can use on the next assignment.

UNDERSTANDING · STUDY HABITS · CONFIDENCE

What happens during
a tutoring lesson?

Your tutor works with your child’s actual schoolwork and upcoming tests. Together, they clarify difficult concepts, practice applying them and build habits your child can use independently.

  1. 01

    Start with what’s difficult.

The tutor reviews assignments, recent quizzes and teacher feedback, then asks your child to explain their thinking. This helps identify what needs attention first.

  2. 02

    Explain. Then practice.

Your child gets clear explanations at their pace, followed by practice. The tutor revisits earlier skills when needed and checks that your child can apply what they’ve learned.

  3. 03

    Leave with a next step.

Your child leaves knowing what to review and how to prepare for the next assignment or test. The goal is stronger understanding, better organization and growing confidence with the course.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Your first lesson.
And the support that follows.

A thoughtful first visit.

At your first in-home lesson in Newport Beach, the tutor reviews your child’s coursework, needs and teacher’s expectations, then begins shaping a practical study plan. You can meet the tutor, ask questions and see how they connect with your child.

A weekly routine that fits.

We generally recommend a standing weekly appointment during the school year. Lesson length and frequency reflect your child’s needs and goals, and can increase or decrease as their workload and independence change.

A familiar point of contact.

Adam checks in after the first lesson and remains your primary contact. He knows the tutors personally and can help with the match, schedule or approach as your child’s needs evolve.

Elica hooti

Lacey is an amazing tutor, she makes sure there’s understanding but what’s most important is she emphasizes the conceptual aspect which really makes a difference.

Tun Min Soe

Math isn't our 12-year-old’s favorite subject, especially while learning a grade ahead, but Ms. Parsa makes the challenge feel approachable and even fun. While she is clearly a highly qualified educator, it is her patience and temperament that truly set her apart. She is incredibly professional, easy-going, and flexible with scheduling. We highly recommend her.

Scarlett Dickerson

My tutor Emily was so great and helped me get my math grade up to an A.
